A few of you have asked about the rug we selected for my sister, Brooke's ,living room. It's the Argonne Rug from Home Decorators in yellow (duh) - size: 8x11.

I've been eyeing the Argonne because of its similarity to Madeline Weinrib's "Brooke" in Goldenrod. (Kinda karmic that I had the "brooke" rug in mind for my sister, Brooke, huh?)
Weinrib "Brooke" in GoldenrodAnyway, a true Weinrib is out of budget right now, but there was nothing holding us back from getting a similar look, and the Argonne accomplishes that.
We took a bit of a gamble since the online reviews of the Argonne are mixed. Some people believe the quality was not up-to-par, or that the rug is "scratchy." However, if you read the product details, you know to expect a natural fiber (wool), flatweave rug. The Argonne is not meant to be sumptuous and soft - it's a nice, budget-friendly substitution for a high-end "carpet."
Our experience so far with Argonne is:

- Great price: 8x11 regular price - $429. We bought it on sale for $399 plus free shipping, so that was a nice bonus.
- Color: Nice, deep yellow that was true to website photo
- Weave: Decent, but not extremely tight. Time will tell how well it will hold up to moderate foot and paw traffic.
- Durability: Respectable. Unfortunately, Brooke's rug was "christened" with a spill of red wine over the holidays, but it recovered well with quick blotting. If the stain remained, it was not noticeable.
Overall, the Argonne meets expectations, and I'd certainly recommend it to someone wanting a pocketbook-friendly version of a colorful, graphic-pattern flatweave.

Gorgeous! This reminds me of a rug that was in Pottery Barn recently, though I don't think they had the yellow.
I love this rug. I've been seeing this one or one similar and I want it. I just don't want to spend that kind of money. Great buy.

Great review! I am thrilled to hear about the red wine stain - that's pretty great for a soft yellow. I definitely need a new rug.
That's a very good budget substitute for the MW version!
PS - I have to plug DwellStudio's latest line of flatweave rugs. Very good prices (I got an orange/white stripe 5x8 for $200!) and I've been most pleased with the quality.
Hi Allison, is the rug difficult to keep in place. I have a double-sided Dhurrie rug from Pottery Barn and even with a rug pad, it folds and ripples. But I love this yellow rug from Home Decorators but the revies have kept me from buying it thus far. It will be underneath a large farm style table in my kitchen which would hold it down mostly, but my biggest concern is it folding up on the edges or whenever someone tries to slide a chair underneath. What's your opinion?

The Argonne IS a thin rug that might pull/curl under the traffic of dining chairs.
My sister's rug is "anchored" by her sofa and coffee table, so she hasn't experienced a lot of pulling. I'm not sure I'd recommend it under a table.
