Dining Rooms + Wallpaper = Geriatric or Geri-cool?

I have a potential dining room project that may or may not come to fruition, but that doesn't stop my OCD brain from going into inspiration overdrive.  I've seen so much papering of rooms over the last couple of years, and have been waiting for just the right moment to go for it.
Dining rooms get one of my top votes for a paper situation, but I'm worried mine would somehow veer into the realm of geriatric, instead of the cool, elegant, casualness I envision.
Some inspirations...
 Watery panels.  'Tis good.

Hinson's Fireworks - most often seen in a Powder-your-nose place, but I can totes see it to de-formalize a dining room, too.

Fancy.
DeGournay Plum Blossom - Hold that thought...

So, I was cruising Spoonflower's wallpaper offerings the other night.  Is it just me, or is Spoonflower the online version of Needle in a Haystack?  There's some darling patterns, but could they please categorize it so that I can bypass all the holiday quilter's blocks when I'm searching DeGournay wanna-be's?  Oh, and add a "my faves" or similar holding vessel for patterns that are cool.  'K?  Thanks.

Anyway...wallpaper for dining rooms.  Here's a few that could. Maybe. Work.  Maybe.

A riff on a Chinoiserie silhouette pattern (kinda Schumacher Chenonceau-ish)

I've looked at this marbled pattern dozens of times, wondering where I could make it work.  Too much for a dining room?

The same artist makes this "summer mum" pattern

Close your eyes, and work this watercolor take on cherry blossoms into a scheme like the DeGournay version above.  And save the cash for your kids' education fund.
Thoughts?  Anyone, anyone? (Bueller? Bueller?)
