I often find my own style formula hard to pinpoint. Some days I'm all about the neutral vibe, others, I can't fathom living without strong shots of color. I think many design enthusiasts struggle with this sort of aesthetic bipolarity, and with some vague desire to bottle what it is that turns our crank, style-wise.
