Chop, Chop?

Going for a much-needed cut 'n color today... Right now, my hair is mid-back length, and I end up wearing it like this 300 days of the year. So really, why bother having long hair, right?I wish I had the style courage to chop it like this...
...but, without a bevy of stylists hovering about, I'd undoubtedly end up with a non-descript Mom Cut {sigh}
I'll let ya know if The Spirit moves me to do anything fun...

The cute is so cute! I know what you mean about getting a different and fun hair style. I have had a very long hair for many years... Once I had a short hair cute just like a men's style I would put some gel would be ready to go, I use to love it! But now my hubby likes the long hair so I just trim it once in awhile. You should try it really is a cute one!

I have that same problem these days... in fact, my hair is in a bun like that right this minute!!! I am thinking going for a short bob like Katie Holmes has these days... but I've been keeping my hair long for a while! It's hard to do something so dramatic! Can't wait to see the results!

we are in the same boat. my hair is also mid back and i long to cut it too. but i am torn. i am afraid i will look like a "mom" too. you are still quite young though and can still pull off short with ease and little effort so if you ARE gonna do it i say do it now.
but i will say this about ashley's do....that is a VERY skilled person doing that cut and if you feel confident with someone to do it to you-great..if not opt for something not quite as artfully layered.

Venture out and try something different. I would just ask for it to be fairly easy maintenance. I hate to spend 30 min. a morning on my hair. Good luck. Hugs, Marty

Don't cut it off! I love long hair-my hair has been the same since I was 2! Change isn't always good.

Going for short hair IS scary, so the best advice is to go slowly. If your hair is mid-back, just go to your shoulder blades and then next time (if you're still game) go for just at your shoulders and so on. -- I first chopped my hair off in college and went for broke straight out of the gate. Not a good idea. That said though, I haven't gone back to long hair since (even for my wedding) -- short hair is great!

I'm about to do a major hack job as well. Mine is also mid to lower back so I'm going to be brave and chop it. Not because I'm brave normally about a full on chop but, I figured since I got it this long I may as well use it for good.

I'm going to donate my hair to 'Locks Of Love' so they can use it to make a wig for a child with hair loss that may not have been able to afford one otherwise.

Maybe this would work for you too.

I'm used to having my hair chin length, but I decided to grow it out and tell the BF I'm not cutting it till he asks me to marry him because I want to have long hair to pull back in a low messy bun with curls around my face for the wedding (yes I know I have issues, haha). But right now this in-between stage is really getting to me, I have no idea what to do with it :) He keeps telling me I'll have "butt length" hair by the time he pops the question, I think hes just getting me back for growing it out (he likes it short)

Sorry, that was a longer comment than I thought haha

I am SOOOOO with you! I wear my hair exactly like you do, and love the cut below, but it would somehow not look that messy/sexy/chic on me and then I could not put it up! Hahahaha! Decisions, decisions!
